i've searched all over the forums and done searches so please don't tell me to do that.....
i have a xecuter lite chip with switch and i'm running evolutionx
first question......should i be worried about running retail games on live with the mod chip turned off? I haven't updated to live 2.0 yet and i heard that the download will overwrite some evox files? If it will wat do i have to do to stop it?
secondly i enabled the lock and unlock harddisk items in the evox files....i locked it so i can boot the original m$ bios. It worked fine, but i don't think i'm able to unlock it now. I hit unlock hardisk, but in the settings menu next to security it says "lock enabled". I could still ftp into the xbox. Does the drive have to be unlocked to do this?

with the chip off, it boots to the MS dash without error then your OK..
and also evox will be fine with a update (backup evox just it case)
there is no need to unlock the hdd but, you should know the password

thanx a lot
i just noticed that for watever reason evox came loaded with config magic....i used it to disable the lock........but if i can ftp into it even when its locked i guess i don't have any reason to unlock do i?
also.......don't yell at me, but when u say "backup evox", wat do you mean?
do you mean just copy all of the evox files and put them on my computer?
the reason i asked about the live 2.0 update is cuz i read that if some evox file isn't changed the update could cause problems

I think the update will only mess up the files if people still have the evox dash called xboxdash.xbe instead of evoxdash.xbe
Cause then the update overwrites the file thinking it is the m$ dash when its really evox.
(If that make any sense at all - its 5:11am here and still waiting to go to bed lol)
