I hate being a noob but that's where I am right now.

Bought a solderless Xchip. Installed it on a 1.0 Xbox (After a little soldering Go figure)

I've powered up to my Cromwell Boot up which I don't understand at all.

I have worked out I need a different Bios to upgrade my HD and copy my games to it.

I've downloaded and installed X2.4983 Bios using X-Control software, and when I boot my Xbox now I get the normal boot screen with Xecuter2 appearing at the bottom.

I've also got a copy of Evox X-Chip Bios V1.0.

Does it matter which BIOS I use? and will they all work with my Mod chip?

What I would like to do is install my 120G HD and backup my games so I don't have to mess with the disks anymore. I've seen the tutorial here for changing the HD which I'm pretty sure I'll be able to follow ok if I can just get a BIOS working.

I appologize for being so green but any help would be greatly appreciated at this stage. I'm usually pretty quick with stuff like this but man...I'm lost ! (Nothing like when I chipped my PS1) !!

Thanks in advance,

Slim

you already have the newest bios ( x2 4983 )and it good to go so all you have to do is install dashboard of your choice ( evoluton x , avalaunch etc.)
