So yeah, I've had the now famous problem with the Star Wars Bonus disc. It's giving me the error 21 screen, so I tried to restore my old MS dashboard. It didn't work, and now the Xbox boots up at error 21 all the time.

So I made an EvoX CD-RW boot disc, and it doesn't work. I used to be able to use them all the time, but no more. I've tried different CD-RW brands, I've tried different EvoX ISO's, and tried not finalizing the disc. Nothing has worked.

Any ideas? Is it possible for the Star Wars DVD to have caused more than just a simple dashboard issue? I can't figure out why I can't use a boot disc anymore...

Have you tried Slayer's Auto-Installer 2.6 ?

Yeah, tried that one too. No luck.

Thought I would just add... I've now tried burning EvoX ISO's and Slayer ISO's to DVD-R, and it's still not booting. And I know that these DVD-R's are acceptable for my Xbox, because I've used them before. I have also tried making my own ISO's with C-Box Tool.

It's almost as if the Xbox is not attempting to read from the DVD-ROM before getting to the error 21 scene. Is it possible that the boot sequence somehow changed? How could that happen? And how do I get it back?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want my Xbox back. sad.gif

maybe you can try reflashing the bios on to the chip or if you have a friend with an xbox try swapping DVD drives to check....... unsure.gif.......just a guess.

What chip are you using (if you are using one) and what bios were you using?

I think I'm gonna stay away from that disk...

It's one of the Xecuter chips... can't remember exactly. I haven't changed the BIOS on it since I installed the chip about a year and a half ago.

Is it even possible for a DVD to alter the BIOS?

Have you read the Error 21 tutorial?

Yes, but it doesn't help me seeing as how I can't boot up the Xbox or use the EvoX boot CD...
