I am getting a HD upgrade in the weekend or next, not sure yet, but i was thinking, if i dont have to worry about the media i am using, then why do i need a sammy, would a tommy or a philips be adequate for me, i say dont worry about the media because i wad going to buy a dvd wruter please help

..........i mayaswell add that different drives have different levels of compatibility with writeable media

sammy = best
thommy = worst (prolly wont read anything)

My Tompson will read DVD- and +r. But it won't read anything else. It isn't worth the money for a better drive when you can just FTP non game files over to you xbox.
