i got a xbox with no hdd no backup nothing

from what ive been reading i need a mod chip and a new hard drive and slayers to get things runing.

1 is this right?
2 so its possibe to put in a mod chip and flash the system without a perfectly working xbox?
3 whats a good 40 gig hdd to put in?

Assuming there is nothing else wrong with the xbox, you can install a chip/HD and use Slayer's Auto Installer to set it up.

yup, but 40gigs is pretty small.....games take anywhwre from 2gigs-4gigs on average........i used 40gigs in like 2months......

Well I have an 80GB Drive in my xbox and I dont even use half of it,.. I mean how many games can you possibly be playing.. I have 5-10 games on my HDD That I play and the rest I keep on DVD's

well i dont have a dvd drive on my box lol so no disc backups for me, i have about 18 games total, i kepp the less played ones on my pc's hdd ready to be ftp'd, and the ones i play at least once a week i keep on my box, im at about 38gigs of free space, anyways i was just pointing it out, he didnt sound like he knew 2 much
