ok i got dosbox and i think its great. the only problem is it emulates a 486, which is wayyyyyyyyyy to slow for my liking. i'm not ungrateful for it, it's a great acheivement. it's just not fast enough to play the things i want.

anyway is there another dos emulator that just emulates the OS and not the 486 computer, or is there a way i can install actual dos on the xbox?

help much appreciated.

Dosemu through linux will give very very good performance more than you'd need to play nearly any dos game.

Compatibility is good but you need some linux experience to get the most out of it (At least command line but hey you're trying to run dos)

You need M$ dos or drdos to get decent compatibility

that's a problem lol, got a stock hard drive and most of its being used up, no space for linux at all. and the live distros are crap. spose i'll have to try 'bochs' and run some dos games through that.

A qemu port would be faster then anything we have now,at least for windows emulation....probably even better than vmware under linux because of the lack of ram on the xbox. Here is a link for anyone interested: http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/

You should put that into Xports project request
