Hi all,

I have tried searching but with no luck, I have some movies which are .AVI files and I would like to burn them to disc to play on my xbox, because I dont have a DVD player. Yes I do have a modchip and I have XBMP, but am just unsure what disc to burn, should it be a DATA - VCD - SVCD or DVD disc.

Any help is always appreciated.

Just a normal iso9660 (or udf) data disc will do.
DVD is for an actual DVD encoded movie (MPEG-2 DVD compliant, with a VIDEO_TS folder and ifos, vobs and bups)
VCD is for an actual VCD encoded movie (MPEG-1 with certain settings, .dat extension usually)
SVCD is for an actual SVCD encoded movie (MPEG-2 SVCD compliant, can't remember the extension)

An avi (or mpg, ogm, mkv, mp3, etc) just goes on a data disc.

so could I just use Craxion or Qwix or soming to create the ISO and then say use Nero or Alcohol120% to burn IMAGE to disc??

Ive done it, just used Nero and created a data disk not made ISO in Craxion.

As you might have noticed (but just incase someone searches for the answer) XBMP/XBMC have support for ISO9660 and UDF and XISO. So you can just burn a dvd normally for use in your PC or Xbox.

i have a crystal xbox witha samsung drive in but i cant seem to play my normal data disc movies on the xbox. evrytime i put a cd in it keeps on sayin 'no disc'.????
is it a copying error or a fault in the xbox or something im not aware of

I have avi's on cdr as a data disc. How do i get the box or xbmp to play them. data disk w/ avi movie on it will not show up. Does the box need special codac for avis, , vcds. or svcds
