I want to FTP so I can apply so ppf's to halo, but heres the problem
I have a crossover cable, and I put my IP address in from my computer onto my Xbox with the last digit uped one, (and should I use the same Default Gateway and Subnet mask on my Xbox as it is on my computer?) and it doesnt connect.
What should I do? (a little step by step would be nice

) And my internet is not on when I FTP it is a straight connection between my comp and my box, no router in between.
Thanks

I tried to connect (I added the same Default Gateway and Subnet Mask)
and it says :
( R ) Connection Failed (No Route To Host)
Any Ideas? (sorry for the double post)

Make sure the default gateway on your xbox settings is the same as your Computer ip address.
EXAMPLE:
Computer-
ip address= 192.168.0.1
subnet mask=255.255.255.0 Must be this value
Xbox-
ip address= 192.168.0.2
subnet mask=255.255.255.0
default gateway=192.168.0.1

Ok this is wat i do when i do a crossover/pc/xbox connection.
If you xbox ip is 192.168.100.10, Then in you pc/network conections you put 192.168.100.9
Now on the ftp program like (flashfxp) you put 192.168.100.10
remember the password is xbox same for the user.
Remeber you always OFF a number/digit.

Ok Im using FlashFXP and i'm using the IP's and other things that MR Robinson gives in his tutorial.
I don't know what i'm doing wrong
Tell me if what im doing here is wrong
I use all the Ip's Mr Robinson said to and i followed it step by step, left the DNS's blank and I put the SubnetMask as 255.255.255.0
I have Static IP set to yes.
Thats it

With the Xbox on and at evox, get on your computer and bring up a command prompt. Type in "ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where the xxx stuff is your the IP address of your xbox.
Example:
ping 192.168.0.3
If you get a reply then the box is setup correctly.
