I'm so damn excited right now. I've been trying for the past 2 weeks to get my Thomson drive to read a disc and I finally got it with a Verbatim DVD-R. I updated Xbox Live when I played the Outrun 2 demo. I know it overwrote some files, I just need to know which ones to replace now. Any help is appreciated.

Uh... what are you doing? You need to be more specific. Are you trying to softmod it?

I have an Xecuter 2 in my xbox. It's been working for over a year without a problem until about 2 weeks ago. I played the Outrun 2 demo from OXM, and it updated Live. Since then, it boots to the MS dash instead of the EvoX dash. I finally made an EvoX boot disc that works so I can FTP in now. I know it overwrote something so the MS dash would come up first. I just need to know what I need to do to get it to boot from EvoX again.

the easy way is to rename evoxdash.xbe, 'xboxdsash.xbe'

the good way to do it is to flash your chip with a more recent Xecuter Bios--this way, when you boot that bios, it will look for evoxdash.xbe first.

Ok, heres what you do. Insert your Evox boot cd and ftp into your xbox. Then ftp the default.xbe file from the D: drive, rename it to xboxdash.xbe and transfer it to your C: drive, reboot and evox should load up.

Thanks guys. I finally got everything straight. I couldn't FTP in for some reason so I had to use boXplorer and rename some files. I figured out that my bios does look for evoxdash.xbe first, but I still renamed it xboxdash.

I'm not really concerned about not being able to get back to the MS dash anymore.

If you still want to be able to get to the msdash, then you need to name the evox dashboard back to evox dash and then name the msdash xboxdash.
