A little late in asking this but I haven't been in the Sports forums in a while.
The Pats and Jets are the early front runners but I think the Pats will take it again this year. They always find a way to win and don't shoot themselves in the foot either and thats the key, at least I think it is.
The Pats have a chance to go undefeated and I hope they do though I know it is almost impossible. But you got to admit, they look like they could do it.
My end of season predictions:
Pats: 16-0 (but probably 14-2)
Jets: 12-4
Bills: 8-8
Phins: 0-16

as much as I like the jets (they're my fav team) I don't think they are gonna do THAT great this year. so far they haven't beat any real great teams, and they have given up too many points.

True! We'lle see how they fair against the Pats and then we can asses their situation better.

this is a pointless thread. Pats are going all the way unless they have alot of injuries in the coming games (god I hope so).
Eagles/Patriots Superbowl 2005! (eagles get the win of course)
how great would it be to have an all, undefeated superbowl. Highly doubt it will happen but that would be great.

The steelers played a tight game and capitalized on 4 turnovers. But had the Pats not turned it over we'd be telling a different story today. Corey was also out of the game so we had to settle for our spread offense which played right into the steelers hands since all they did all week was prepare for that type of offense. Ty Law was also out for most of the game so Burress had a field day out there. But I digress...
Goodbye perfect season but hey, it's all good, we're still going to the big dance. The steelers are gonna choke down the road. The curse of Kordell Stewart still looms over you.

I like the Pats to go back to the Super Bowl despite a much stronger AFC all around. I think the Pats play better as the underdog. And the team with the best record in the league usually disappoints in the playoffs.
Pittsburgh did catch the Pats on an off day. In a rematch, I think it's a much close game with the Pats holding a few key edges.
The main reason why the Pats and Steelers are really the teams to beat however is their "lunchbox and timecard" mentality where they don't take games off. Any team in the AFC thinks that they can take a game off right now is kidding themselves (unless they are playing the 'Fins).

My toughts exactly, except for the underdog part. I think that if the Pats can get healthy, especially the secondary, in time for the playofss we have a great chance at a repeat. Back to Back Baby!

When the Pats knocked off the Rams three years ago, the Pats didn't have the best team in football. They played for respect.
They have a much better team now on paper.

Man I am in no way shape or form a Pats fan, but you definatley have to let the odd game go with that guy. The guy has been insane the last couple of seasons.

I used to think Brady was overrated.
But his poise in the pocket, and unflappable demeanor are worth quite a bit. Not to mention that Brady has one of the quickest releases I've seen in a long time. Once he makes his read, the ball is delivered.
He is starting to get a bit too overconfident. Throwing balls while you're getting leveled isn't smart. They've got a sound running game, and a good defense. It wouldn't kill Brady to throw the ball away in those situations.

Exactly My thoughts. I also agree with you on getting these little mistakes out now instead of the playoffs. This loss will bring them back to earth and show them to not make stupid mistakes/

They sure responded well today.
With Pittsburgh banged up, and New England healthy, the Pats have to be the team to beat.
Indy won an important game against the Chargers, but they needed a bit of luck, a converted 4th down, a kick return for a TD, and a two-point converstion to put it into overtime. Overtime is a coin-flip, so I wouldn't say that either team won that game. The Chargers dominated for 3 quarters, and in the 4th Indy could do no wrong.
The AFC playoffs are going to be exciting and dangerous. New England and Pittsburgh will benefit more from the week off than home field.

Pittsburgh was exposed. New England dominated the team many favored to win the AFC.
Tell me who the favorite is going in next week.
Where are all those Indy fans who were adamant that their team was the best? Didn't I keep saying that Manning never won a big game in his life? Didn't I say Manning can't beat the Patriots? Didn't I say that good defenses will always shut him down?
Manning audibles and basically calls his own plays. He put up big numbers by always putting the ball in his hands against weak defenses. He is all about stats. And he'll be at home watching the AFC Championship game.
Some quarterbacks put up great stats. Some just win games. The truly great ones, like Favre, Elway, Montana and Graham did both. Manning will never be in that echelon.
