I am having a problem with WinXIP let me describe the steps that I have taken.
I am trying to skin the original ms dash, I have downloaded the PID Purple Dash, I connected with ftp and backed up xboxdash.xbe, xodash, and xboxdashdata,
I then used Hexbe to patch the xbe with the pids purple.xbp over ftp and it patches fine.
I then open winxip and patch the xip files.
GameHilite_01.xbx into default.xip
outline.xbx into music2.xip - setting3.xip
xboxbg.xbx into default.xip
And everything seems to work fine.
The problem arises when I try and resign my dashboard using WinXIP, I choose file Resign MS Dashboard I choose the .xbe that I have stored on my local desktop.
Before it even loads the .xbe file into WinXIP it errors out and and takes me to the send error report to MS page. The error says the xbox archive manipulator has encoutner a problem and needs to close.
I have tried this on a couple of different machines both running XP SP 1
Any Ideas???

I had the same problem after patching my dash. I would say you must have a new dash as i do. I have a V1.6 Xbox and they must have made changes to the dash that is going to require a updated Winxip. I did the same on an older xboxdash.xbe and all worked fine.
hope that helps

...or you could you could just use fuckdb's awesome full no resign patch or even a tHc .xbe...

edit: err ^that should have read _tHc Lite_ .xbe

I had the same problem as he was having and i have xboxdashdata.17F14D00 and if he's getting the same error i have becasue he has this same dash ,then the
fuckdb's full no resign patch wouldn't work for him.
This Patch is only for XBDash Live 2.0.17e4cd00 (aka 5659). I used xboxdashdata.1012a700 on my V1.6. So if you have the same dash as i
have and don't have access to another dash, then your best alternative
would be what gasclown suggested ( tHc Lite_ .xbe )
