Full Version: Gathering Some Info About Flashing The Tsop

Ok, I'm looking into flashing a friends TSOP (what up Brad MX6). What I've gathered is, he has a V1.4 TSOP. This equals 256K. Before knowing what version he had, I was wanting to flash a multi bios (original+what ever) on his TSOP for XBL. Now comman sense tells me, where not going to be able to flash a multi bios on his TSOP due to the fact the smallest bios is 256K. I'm just wanting someone to verify what I already know.

Basicly the question is, "I can't do a multi bios on a V1.4 TSOP?" Unless he gets a modchip.

No multibios on a 1.4, only on 1.0 and 1.1.

1.0 & 1.1 have a 1 mb bios on a rewritable chip, so you could do this. 1.2-1.5 have a 256k bios on a rewritable chip so it's not possible. 1.6 has no rewritable chip so no bios replacement is possible ( but you don't have that because you did a tsop flash ).

with a 1.0/1.1 you could install the multibios.
1.2-1.5 you'd have to only go 1 bios due to size.

EDIT: correctified

Um 1.6's have a bios, its just not on a rewriteable chip, and the chip has the eeprom info as well.

The eeprom is on a separate chip from the bios. The eeprom is the 8-pin chip marked U7D1 near the LPC.

You sure? I know the new bios chip has more info than just the bios on it, altho I'm not sure what that extra info is.

I'm absolutely positive...
