how would u tell if u had fryed a chip. it would smell weird wouldnt it and could you fry it by putting the d0 point in the wrong hole

The D0 is the ground connection and yes you could potentially screw up big time if its not in the right spot. If it smells already like burned plastic chances are you fried something. check to see if there is a dark spot or burnt spot anywhere of the chip or motherboard. follow the smell it should lead you there.
