I got my network running between my Xbox and computer...sort of.

All the info:

Xbox I.P: 142.179.252.38
Xbox Subnet Mask: 255.255.224.0
Xbox Default Gateway: 142.179.224.1

Computer I.P: 142.179.252.37
Computer Subnet Mask: 255.255.224.0
Computer Default Gateway: 142.179.224.1

DHCP enabled. I am using SmartFTP for a FTP program on computer, and Ed On A Chip 004 for Xbox.

Xbox ------ Hub ------ Computer

Oops...the diagram screwed up so the DSL modem is going to the uplink port of the hub.

Sometimes I can connect and FTP between the two, but most of the time, I get "No response. Server timeout.". There's a few other messages I get too, but I can't remember them. They have something to do with sockets.

I need someone to help me so I can actually connect between my Xbox and Computer 100/100 times instead of 1/100.

Another problem I had was when I connected, I couldn't see the contents of the D: drive (which had Halo 1 in it), while I could see every other drive. Why? And how can I fix it so I can see the contents/copy them to my computer to make a backup?

change your xbox gateway to your computer ip (142.179.252.37)
that should be all that you need to change.

Tried your solution, the first time it connected and logged on and stuff, but after a few seconds it timed out. I tried many more times and it simply said "Connection timeout. No response from server."

Edit: Connected after a few tries. I can't see anything in D drive, even though there's a game in there.
