I see a lot of noobs post questions that they should find answers to when they do searches. Many times they claim they did do searches. I'm thinking that part of the problem is the oft not used "Search Posts From..." setting that default to the last 30 days.

I did a couple of searches based on some nooby questions that were annoying us more experienced users, and found the difference in the search results to be amazing. Several topics, while discussed to death in the forums were outside 30 days and to the noobys it didn't show up because they didn't see/understand the "Search Posts From..." setting.

Even I have forgotten to change that setting a couple of times during my searches assuming that the default would be "all". Of course, when I didn't find what I was looking for I always went back to the search page and assumed I did something wrong until I figured out my mistake.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

And Older.

I've had this problem too. It should be changed.
