I was with Doc Brown when he fell off the toliet when hanging a clock. He came up with the idea of time travel (as we all know) and he also said on November 9, 2004, the greatest Xbox game will OFFICIALLY be released. I was at EB the same day (Yup, they were around back then)
gcskate27
could you ask your buddy doc why he always misspronounces the word 'gigawatt'?

btw i finally preordered mine in august i think... wink.gif

The one that says if you don't pre-order halo2 you're a douche?
Yeah I heard that one smile.gif Pre-ordered 2 months ago smile.gif
danlk2
a fool? lol, you paid for the game regardless and its not like you paid extra, and eb or gamestop isnt making money off of you because they still have to pay for the shipments they get in. rolleyes.gif it is just so the store can order enough that they dont run out RIGHT AWAY.

I got this new open source software and posted an order in 1560 A.D. I may end up with "Ye Olde English" version though. It will be tough understanding what "Bad cyborg! Bad!" will sound like in Chaucer's english. "Evil man clocke!" maybe? tongue.gif

I reserved my copy at Target about 2 weeks ago.

I preordered Halo 2 September 11 2004

5/31/04 I put my down payment to reserve it. Sometime in July I went and paid the balance in full. I did that because I heard rumor that the people who paid in full would get their copy from the store before they started handing out to people who just had reservations. ph34r.gif

*SIGH* You've already come in this thread once and tried to wind people up already, but you have to come back and do it again dont you? When will you learn that WE (the consumer) are loosing NOTHING from pre-ordering, but we are GAINING a lot of stuff. So please stay out of threads that you disagree with.

*SIGH*

You're right chilin_dude... I should behave like everyone else who pre-ordered and be a sheep, I should follow the heard and only post positive things in threads, I should NOT try to stir the pot and start a little *HARMLESS* contreversy... I should NOT express MY opnions, I should agree with whatever it is the thread says... give your head a shake man, this thread would suck worse then it does if it was just a bunch... of this...

Ya... that makes more exciting reading that I want to participate in...

How about gcskate27's comment... now that was entertaining! (Seriously... I laughed out loud!)

Edit: One last thing...

like i said in my other post on page 1, i did order it the next day (today) hehe so i got mine since Oct 28th 2004 smile.gif

lol @ the 1955 answer. It makes no sense. Why not just travel time until november 8th or sumtin, pre-order it, travel to the 9th, and than take it back with you into 1955.

Is it pronounced giga-watt or jigga-watt? And can a bolt of lightning really generate 1.2 of em?
bborski
i dont give a rats ass about what anybody thinks about pre-ordering, your entitled to your OPINION but to answer the question posed by Squeek (which by the way has been asked several times over the past couple years). i pre-paid for mine on 12-28-02 at 4:28, so very close to being two years ago cool.gif . beerchug.gif

Since when did a simple *sigh* mean that? I never once said you should buy it, I simply said that if you don't agree with pre-orders then don't go into a thread about them. Think of it this way:
If you didn't like Iraqi's would you go to iraq? No.
Of course you should express your opinion, but that is what the 'New thread' button is for, so that you can start a new thread on your views on pre-orders.
*Shakes head* I don't think that it would suck wose than it does if it was just those posts you quoted - It would be a hell of a lot better if you hadn't posted IMO.

Ok, whatever. I guess I must be imagining that I have got:
Money off
Delivered to doorstep.
Chance of receiving early.
No hassle of looking for shop that has it in stock.
Paid for it already when I had money rather than having to scrounge around for money now.

I guess that 'Shit' must have gone out of town.

Not sure where I said I wasn't going to buy this game? I plan on buying, I will buy it Nov 9th, on my way home from work, it will take no more extra time out of my day then going to the post office to pick it up, it will cost me no more then anyone else who pre-ordered and I am in the fortunate situation I suppose where I don't have to 'scrounge' for money to buy a $60 game.

I suppose that is where my beef is, if I don't like a thread topic I shouldn't read it, or post my opnions in it? That is ass backwards if you ask me... you suggest I start a different thread saying people who pre-order are sheep... well, then to your logic no one who pre-ordered should go in that thread and disagree with me, now there would be a waste of time, all the people of like minds should go to threads the agree with so everyone can pat eachother on the back and congratulate eachother for having such great opnions... yawn!

Answer me this then... can you say in ALL honesty, that if I had NOT posted in this thread that you would be continuing to read it? Seriously, if I had said nothing you would honestly continue to click on this thread to read what dates people pre-ordered? What in the good lords name would you read a thread that has a bunch of dates in it or people 'praying that gamespot still has their name in their computer'... give me a break, this thread is as utterly usless as EVERY SINGLE OTHER HALO 2/Pre-order thread out there! If people come to X-S to read the date when others pre-ordered a game then those people are really really really sad... anyway, I guess I'll let you get back to reading some more dates, because it is obviously more stimulating then readin all this non-sense!

Money off - I will pay the same at my local EB that everyone else did
Delivered to doorstep. - I don't have door step delivery, I'd have to go 'somewhere' to get it, and EB is actually closer then the post office
Chance of receiving early. - Don't see this as a benifit
No hassle of looking for shop that has it in stock. - Won't be any hassle for me, you really think EB won't have tons and tons of copies aviable?
Paid for it already when I had money rather than having to scrounge around for money now. - Again, this may be a benifit to you, or perhaps you need to budget a little better

Well i bought mine at Costco.com 10-27-04 and they were selling the limited edition for $48.99.

ROAR from what i have been told by 5 diffrent stores is that they have over a thousand reserves and that over 5 thousand games in a 20 mile radius. They say the limited edition will not be available until after christmas again and there is a possibility the the regular ones may end up the same way.So while i respect your principles i ain't waitin till after christmas to play Halo 2.I realize i will not get mine until probably the 12th because of the mail but i can wait a couple days been waitin two years already

I haven't pre-ordered and don't plan to. I like the hunt I guess. Though I must say, the Toy's R Us controller for $10 with pre-order almost made me do it till I realized the controller was shit. One time my wife pre-ordered that stupid Yoda-Ferbie toy thing. A year after she pre-ordered, we finally decided it was time to go back to the store and get a refund cause the dam thing still wasn't out yet. I don't think people who pre-order are stupid, I just think it's not necessary for me unless they offer some sort of incentive. Odds are I would lose the receipt and end up screwed anyway.
