rite i bin reading bout leds, some dude says to use a 10ohm resistor, well if i wanted to put in 10 resistors in series wud i just not put a resistor in, how mant ohms can one take???? and wen i got the lot togetha wot power source do i connect em to????
Slamm36
try this led calculator Here
this should help.. and do the leds in parallel
you want to connect them to the 5v red and the neg leg to the ground black wire
nemesis2468
ye but where do i power the leds from and wot voltage does that kick out? wot id like to do is put leds down the side on the inside of the case so the slots at the side glow red.
Slamm36
just splice into the red and black(one next to the red) wires on the molx the red is 5v and the black is the ground. does this help? if need more help inm more than happy toi
nemesis2468
thanku, ill be doin some working out now, cheers for the helpful replys, i new here and i was kinda expecting to get bak negative comments

Also, if you want to cut into less wires, you can always use the shielding as a ground too.

if the thing kicks out 5v, the led im looking at sez "forward voltage: 3.0V-3.3V(Max 3.8)" t so that means id have 2v left afta ye???
dpaul007
No, it means that you need to supply the LED with 3.0-3.3V, which is why resistors are used, to step down the voltage from 5 to whatever you need, in your case, in between 3 and 3.3 volts.
nemesis2468
but if im doin it in parrallel wont the 1st led nick 3v and then wen i comes to power the next led it wont have enuf????
dpaul007
Your thinking of a series. In parallel, all LEDs get the same amount of volts and current.
nemesis2468
so all i need is a resistor that takes 2v off and i can hook 10 leds in parrallel???
