Full Version: Whats The Eeprom
Im just alittle confused what the eeprom is.
The eeprom is a chip in your xbox that contains certain details of your xbox.
Most of the reference to the EEPROM here, is actually a file called EEPROM.bin, this is an image of your eeprom chip, created by evox or some other eeprom backup agent.

you need to back this up when softmodding dont you or am I wrong.

Yes, it's best to keep a backup in case you break it and you need to rebuild your HDD.

So if I keep abackup and my xbox starts going off the rails I can use the backup and use xboxhdd to rebuild the hard disk and it will be like when I bought it.
yep, thats the idea.
Does it actully work tho. 
I have a xboxhdm restore cd with my eeprom, and yes it works great.
