You need to change this section of config.xml:

<local>

<!-- remove the asterisks to set local address and gateway statically -->
<address*>192.168.1.3</address*>
<subnet*>255.255.255.0</subnet*>
<gateway*>192.168.1.1</gateway*>

<!-- the nameserver is important for SMB network access -->
<!-- typically this is the same as the ip address of the server/ your computer -->
<nameserver>10.182.120.101</nameserver>

<applications>e:apps</applications>
<music>e:music</music>
<pictures>e:</pictures>
<videos>e:movies</videos>

</local>

Set the paths based on where you have copied everything to the xbox.

What exactly did you change in the evox.ini?

Another thing that messes some people up is that the forums strip out the \ character if you only type it once.

So, if your movies are on the e: drive in the "movies" folder, you use e:\movies and not e:movies.

If this doesn't help, copy/paste the changes you made along with the original.

Thought you might want to try this out...

If you allready had an older version of xbmp installed, try deleting the "0face007" file folder from both the TDATA and UDATA directories on your E drive. Once they are removed try running xbmp2.2 and should work fine now.

I had a problem where xbmp would load, but then freeze. Apparently this method solves a few problems.

Am I right in thinking that I can watch movie files that are on my network pc ? Surely the pc has to have a ftp server up ?
DiNapXbox
DannyD; you absolutely can watch movie files from your networked PC. You don't use an FTP server, you use RelaX. Actually you can use regular file shares with XBMP 2.2; pick whatever you think is easiest as they both work. Cheers beerchug.gif
