I was trying to hook up two harddrives recently (using a Y splitter) to do a method for unlocking a harddrive. It wasn't working so I just removed the Y splitter and plugged everything in as normal. All of a sudden the Xbox will not turn on. When I press the power button it does the exact same thing as if it weren't even plugged in. I swapped the power supply with a brand new untouched same version xbox, still no power. The old power supply was put in to the new xbox, and plugged into the same plugs, worked fine.
What else could it be????

There's a yellow cable coming from the eject button panel, double check if it's well plugged in the mobo or maybe damaged...

Tried it in the working xbox, worked fine. Tried the working xboxes pow/ej panel and plug in the non working. Didn't work. If the mothebroard was shocked or damaged, it would just power up and frag right??
