We finally got around to cutting out our ploids:
we started with a cooler full of bags

after

it sucks that we only ended up with around 320 ploids, most of the auctions are going for more then that.

my guess is that its a auction style promo, where they use tokens called "ploids" as money to bid on stuff.

Snapple ran a promotion like this too... Collect thousands of stupid sticky nasty caps and if you don't die of lyme disease from the flies they attract, you can redeem the points to save a dollar on the weight loss pills you're gonna need to burn off all the calories from all that sugar.
About the only promotion I ever bothered with was Pepsi's iTunes. Yeah, I was one of those dorks holding the bottles at an angle to pick winners before I paid for them. I redeemed somewhere around 70 or so free songs. I honestly think it was a pretty lousy value since: 1. I don't really like Pepsi and 2. it wasn't really free, it was like either overpaying for a song and getting free crappy toothrot juice, or paying full price for the Pepsi and getting the song for like a nickel.
Course, thanks to a certain Russian MP3 music store, I'm back to drinking Arizona tea. No promotions to speak of, but damn good tea.
