Ok, I'm dying over here. I really need some help. I'm trying to get this Super Aladding Live installed, but I'm so confused. The tutorials don't seem to help me either.

PLEASE HELP. Take a look at this page:

http://www.superaladdin.com/Super%20Aladdi...e%20Modchip.htm
(there's one of those annoying language installs, just click cancel)

Now look at the instructions on the bottom of the page, and then look at the diagram on the top for v1.0 (that's what I have). Ok, so why is the d0 point in the instructions on the bottom of the board, but in the diagram it's on top? I'm so confused.... Plus, is the L2 point the only point on the bottom of the board? And lastly, I was trying to get the L1 wire soldered on, but when I looked at the diagram, and the motherboard is completely different from mine. The diagram is for a v1.0-1.2 xbox... and I have 1.0 so I don't know what's wrong. On the diagram the L1 is in an area with 6 (2 rows of 3 little black transistors <- not sure what they're called), but on my board, theres only 2 rows of 2, so it looks completely different. And now that I think about it, the BT is right next to the L1 so I'm gonna have trouble locating that too.

I really need help. PLEASE HELP.

I couldn't get the link you posted to load... but whatever... they're usually all the same things anyways.

There's more than likely two D0 points shown because in one of therir install diagrams they've chosed to use the top d0 point and in the other they've recommended you use the bottom d0 point.
The bottom one is commonly referred to as the alternate D0 point... and it's much easier to solder to than the other points on the board.

check out that guide, there's a lot of good general information, and it's got plenty of pictures showing BT and L1.

Use the following diagram:

Except that you should use the bottom instead of the more difficult top D0:

SmartXX has an excellent overall guide:

L2 is quite useless, you don't have to connect it.

The reason why nobody border to reply to you is because people hate to repeat the same thing again and again. There are a few posts about v1.0 installs using Aladdin XT which are applicable to all Aladdin chips.

Sorry about that dead link - the guide was still up when i made the post, hippo must be removing his files.
I looked through some old cached pages to get the link as it's no longer linked from the main page... dont know whats going on.
Again sorry about that.

hope some can clear this up a bit. is there any other wires that u don't have 2 have or is l2 the only 1. i was reading some where and understood the the d0 and bt are the only 1's that are a must. thx 4 the help

As far as I know, LPC mods don't /need/ any external wires... I was able to get my aladdin chip to work by tying D0 to gnd and tying BT on the chip to gnd on the chip... But it seems like you might as well do the couple that need to be done...

tying d0 to ground will work with some of the aladdin clones... definately not all.
Generally if you solder D0 and BT to where they need to be you wont have any problems.
