i put some leds in my controller ports. they were 7000 mcd and seemed pretty bright to me. the problem is when i put them in they dont seem that bright. it seems you can only tell thier if you look at it straight on. anyone else having a problem like this?

What kind of resistor are you using?

Its not like taht for me. Do you know if its a ½ watt resistor or a ¼ watt resistor? Mine is a ¼ watt 100 ohm

if u bend the sides of the ports back u can pick off the back of it and it works but u gotta hot glue it to it and make sure it isnt touching the metal

thats when problems start

im very confusing about what you are saying. are you saying do the hot glue way. or the one where you take the port out and the led's are underneath the metal casing for port. also there are 2 led's in there and still doesnt seem to bright at all...

i would but seem allittle confused. im not to great at all this stuff. you mean bend the metal casing part around port.....? i think im retarded for asking that.

i wasnt incredably specific u know where u drilled the hole? u can rip that out if u bent those flaps out and thens lay some glue and put em in looks pretty good

i think we are talking about different things. i drilled no hole. i did it like this...

is the tip of the led jammed into the little hole on the side so that it is facing out? cause most led's got a viewing angle of like 20 degrees so i dont think it would be that bight unless you had the tip facing out

I just used timmys method and put 2 leds in, 1 in each side both facing out.. it projects a glow about 3 feet across the floor!

i just did my controller ports and i used to 5000mcd leds in each port, mine are nice and bright. i used a 1/4watt 100ohm resistor. i will post pics soon, i have allready taken them just gotta put onto photonucket

The higher the MCD, the smaller the viewing angle. Alot of people are all about having the hight MCD but you need to considering viewing angle also unless you plan on looking directly at the led all the time

I had a problem where I put two LEDs in each port with a 100ohm resistor and you could barely see them at all, but when I tried with just one LED and the same 100ohm resistor it was a hell of a lot brighter. No idea why, I'm not the smartest when it comes to this crap.

i got two leds hooked on a 100ohm resitor and they shine over 10m away, i can project a shadow.
mine are 5500 mcd with viewing angle of 30degrees
