I have an xbox with a Xenium Ice and a retail harddrive. When I go into a file manager or ftp to my xbox shows 0 kb in my f drive yet it shows no files... What is wrong?

Retail drive doesn't have F:\ unless you partition it and format it wink.gif

Do you have a tutorial on how to do that?
Trevante
First you'll need to find out what model of stock HDD you have. I don't know if the Xenium OS tells you anywhere, but I go to the options menu in Avalaunch and I look at the model number of the HDD.

If it's WDC something, then you have an 8GB HDD and can't get a F drive.
If it begins with ST130 something, then you have a 10GB drive, and can get an F drive around 2GB.

Follow this tut to format your F drive. Or I believe Xenium OS can format it for you.

Thanx, If I add a new/bigger harddrive to my xbox is there anyway to go on xbl with it?
JKD
Not to familier with your type of mod chip but if it has a on\off switch then yes you can go on live.

Make sure you lock your new hdd in order to boot to the M$ dashboard.
(configmagic)

Hope this helps.

I have heard there are rumors that M$ has a database of hdd #s and when you go on xbl with a bigger hdd and the # isn't on the list they will ban you. Is the rumor true????
+I saw the post about the list of hdd that will lock on this forum.

With the Xenium, you just add a launch item in the Xenium OS for the retail bios. There isn't a physical switch...

Make sure you upgrade your harddrive and lock it before you sign up for live and you should be fine... I suggest using a Live-Blocking mod bios as well, just to be safe wink.gif

What is an xbl blocking mod bios? What about the rumor?
Bggsyboy
What about the Xtender?
JKD
Xecuter 4983.06 or 4983.67 are good live blocking bios's.

4983.06 = 137gb hdd or lower

4983.67 = 137gb hdd or higher

As for the live rumor I think it's just what it is a rumor, I've been playing on live for well over a year now with a 120gb hdd in my xbox and haven't had any problems connecting or getting banned.

Thanks for the bios info but what do they exactly do? Also, Have you played Halo 2 on xbl with the 120g hdd because I think thats the only game that does what the rumor says.
JKD
A hacked bios will let you play unsigned code on your xbox i.e backups, emulators, applications such as xbox media center, dvd2xbox, dvdx2.....etc.....etc

I've played halo 2 on live with my 120gb hdd installed in my xbox since the day it was released with no problems at all.

I still would feel safer getting a Xtender. Does anyone here have 1?
