I have this weird problem with my xbox and my tv, (it only does it on this tv) Its getting on a bit its a Panasonic TV no idea what model

Anyway when i turn my xbox on or restart it, the picture appears in black and white. I have to cycle off AV onto a normal colour channel then back to AV to get the picture to goto colour,

Anyone had this problem or know how to solve it. Its really annoying having to flick channels when you swap games

Thanks

I am guessing that your tv doesn't fully support whatever region your xbox is(ntsc, ntsc-j, pal etc.), therefore it is black and white. I sorta had the same problem, where my xbox was ntsc-j, and the picture would be black and white. I changed the xbox to ntsc and the picture was color.

It might be that, or it could be something else. It's weird that if you change the channel and then change it back, it becomes color uhh.gif

Try a different TV.

My gues is that the detection of NTSC/PAL in your TV is somewhat ''broken''.

XBox is setup as PAL my TV is pal
on all other TV's its fine,

also my PS2 connected with the standard AV cables works fine.

Only my xbox has this effect and only on this tv lol

its weird

edit: Also after testing with RF lead it does the same thing, i need to switch to a colour channel for the xbox to go into colour. If i swap to a static channel (untuned) it doesnt fix it

Also its a Panasonic TX-21T1
