Which dvd-r works the best on the Philps dvd-rom? The 1x dvd-r Princos dont work, the 2x dvd-r Princos do work but not that great and the Maxell 2x work perfectly but they're very expensive! Please post what type of dvd-r you use please!

Ritek silvertops at www.mertiline.com starting out with a 25 pack for $28 and getting cheaper as you order in bigger quantitys. If you don't mind a 1x burn then definitely get these as they are generally agreed to be the best media for the price.

Well, I've got the CenDyne [Pioneer a05/105] burner and I purchased a 3 pack of Memorex V2 DVD's and have had NO problems with those on my Philips drive. On the other hand, I just got a box of 50 Princo 1x and Have burnt 3 games [2 as a multi and DOA3] and have no problems. What kind of DVD burner do you have?

/edit

Actually I tried the video a few times on DOA3 and it seems a bit choppy, possibly due to the fact I'm using the 1.00 firmware, not the new one- 1.21. Keep you posted...

Not really related but I find that TDK/multi color/Slim case CDR's work fine in my Phillips drive - regardless of how fast i burn em!!

I have a pioneer 105. And I had my friend make some backups on princo 1x on his sony DRU-500A and they have horrible movie playback and choppy game play. But when I put the games into my 2nd dvd-rom (Pioneer add-on dvd-rom mod) it plays the games fine. But when I made my back-ups with 2x princo with my pioneer 105 my philps dvd-rom can play them back perfectly. Now why is that?

"I use nero and gdi image to backup my games adn so does he!"

maybe becuz the 2x princo are on higher quality media?
