Try the Firmware Forums (don't have the link handy)
I'd be wary, just because it's been around and is still practically unknown. It's a 2x"-R" and 1x"-RW" so it's comparable to the Pioneer x04.

I was in your shoes about three weeks ago. I was very unsure about this drive since it was so cheap and I couldn't find any reviews of it online. I bought it anyway and I have successfully burned over 50+ DVD-R and DVD-RW's with it. Not a single coaster to date. Its a dream come true. I highly recommend this drive to anybody in the market for a DVD Recorder.

How much do they want for it? Staples has the cendyne105(Pioneer105) back on special this week and it will burn at 4x. It will cost you $239+tax out of the store and $189 after the mail-in rebate. There are also coupons available for this drive at www.spoofee.com which if you order by phone can bring the overall price down to about $150. I hope this helps.

I bought this drive about a month ago
30+ burns later, I like it
was $100 cheaper than the a05 at the time, and about $30 cheaper than the a04.... but faster than a04 on CDR stuff
The only problem I've had... and I don't think it's the drive's fault, probably bad media... DVD-RW, made by Princo... toasted 3 of them.... each disk failed at about 1% of the burn. Disc wouldn't eject. Software wasn't stopping the burn, only thing to do was power off and back on to get teh drive to open again.
the same burn on different media worked fine.
those 3 DVD-RW.... the drive will no longer recognize them... so I can't erase them... also used a few other of the same Princo blanks, and they are working fine.
There is a new firmware out... supposedly makes it recognize more blanks... but I can't flash it... I don't have a floppy drive :-)

it is a great drive. the new firmware hack is also region free.
i did have problems with cheap DVD-RW's.
but, i have been able to burn cheap DVD-R's at 2x that are not rated for it (Optodisc gold)
