Oddly enough, the same exact thing happened to me! I just reinstalled a different version of FlashFXP, and thought that might be my problem, but I can log into xbins fine.
So if anybody has some insight to this, help would be wonderful.

Try ticking / Unticking the "Passive mode" box in options and the "Site users Nat...."
they can help with that error.

I've got that exact same error, at first I thought it was my internet settings, but I had recently restored a copy of my OS installation with Ghost which I KNOW had the xbox connection all set up nifty-like and awesome, it was working since before 23rd of November when I ripped Halo 2 onto it.
I dunno whats going on here, I also thought it mighta been my crossover cable - as it had teeth marks in it from my recently-weened kitten, however the wires inside haven't actually been damaged, so I dunno what the hell is going on...
I'm gonna go snoop around a bit more and see if I can find what's going on, FlashFXP, my box, my ICS and NIC stuff is all set up properly as it was before..
Oh, BTW, I have the exact same setup as you, with my crossover running from my xbox, to a 10/100 switch, into the NIC, and cable modem to the internet...

hmmrh.. Weird, I can't edit my last post - anyway, I found a way to fix it.
There's something screwy with FlashFXP, I don't know what, perhaps the trial time ran out and it decided to crap on us (Despite the attempts to set our system clock back

)
So download/Buy CuteFTP, or some other FTP proggie, 'coz as soon as I did that, I could access my box good as gold, took off that nasty 4.73 gig game and uploaded XBMC

Oh, I got that the first time I tried it with CuteFTP as well;
1.) Restart your xbox and redo the connection.
2.) Let it sit there for about 5 minutes, just to make sure it aint lag (Mine connection even AFTER I got that error with CuteFTP)
3.) Backup Halo 2 to a DVD (It's a monster!)
4.) Delete it, upload your crap (Pr0n, XBMC, Watever)
5.) I don't think I require any more...

For those of you who come across this post when searching google. The answer for me was to untick
"Use MLSD to list directory" under options in the site manager.
As it states at the bottom of the window: MLSD is not compatible with all ftp servers.
