Ok, I just bought a X3 chip from my 1.6 xbox.

There are two methods for installation correct? The pin header install (9), and the wire install.(10)



which method is the best? I heard it was the pinheader from people on mirc.

But if i went with the pinheader method, I would need extra wires correct?

Also, how can I tell if I have a 1.6a or 1.6b? I know I have a 1.6....

The pin header is the easiest but the wire is by far the most reliable. I had mine installed with the pin header but everytime I hit the xbox too hard the damn chip would cause my box to frag. I would go with the wires myself. Good Luck

The wire install is my prefered method because there aren't ane extra wires or teh need to use the LPC rebuild. You can also make sure that the connections are secure by pulling on the wires indivually (it's quite easy to miss a connection with the pin header).

Ok one vote from me for the pin header install. Only because I have done two so far and havnt tried the wire install yet.

It just depends how much effort you want to put in. The pin header install is really easy. I did the pin header myself and it I haven't had one problem. The wire install is harder but from what I've heard it is more reliable.
