Sitting in the office having a boring time and just thinking about how I will replace my X2Lite with my NEW :-) X2Pro tonight when I go home.

Two questions came up while thinking about the replacing:

QUESTION 1:
Is it right that I can just take out the Lite from the pin header and add the Pro without doing any further soldering (using the wires which were already soldered for the lite).

QUESTION 2:

Can I just run EVOX from a CD-RW, then upload BIOS to xbox (connecting to PC using FTP), flashing BIOS using evox dashboard?

The x-ecuter 2 pro arent pre flashed (?!) so how would you like to bootup and flash it through evoX? dry.gif unsure.gif
DiNapXbox
1: Absolutely. Behold the beauty of the pinheader!!

2: A BIOS is required for the Xbox to boot (just like a PC, which it really is anyway). You'll have to flash initially with the external adapter. But then you get to use the Bios Manager, which looks like a pretty cool app smile.gif

froescheD and DiNapXbox,

I got a question for u 2. Im having trouble flashing my X2Lite so I can get the pretty colors
like you. I follow the tout. on XBOX scene but I cant get it to work and I have the flashes too.
What I dont have in my evox menu a system utilities option so I can flash with a diffrent bios.
Can show me where to add that option. I made a bios folder and I put the .bin file in there but what is next. Did I do something wrong or am I missing a step.
froescheD
what size is your bios? (it must be 512kb or 1mb).

--> edit
... and if flash bios does not appear in your evox dash you have to check the evox.ini and add this function or make a new installation of a complet evox dashboard.
DiNapXbox
The option is under "System Utils...Flash Bios". If you haven't removed anything from your EvoX menu it will be there; if not you can restore the menu using the original evox.ini.

Ummm, hope you still read this. I think you can still hot swap the chips. Only use this if you can't get your Pro to see 01 D5 through your LPT port at home.

HTH.

Did the switch myself. Didn't have a printer cable, so I just hot-swapped the chips - connected to a pinheader of course. Couldn't be easier.

just a quick question...i installed my evox dash using slayers and it doesnt have a flash bios option anywhere on the dashboard....do i need to reinstall evox? can somebody post a clip of their evox.ini where it says "flash bios" or something like that?
turtlesrule
Make sure you have the following line in your evox.ini in order to flash the BIOS. ANd make sure you have the BIOS folder in the root of the C: drive and a correct BIOS in the folder.

Item "Flash BIOS",@1

Enjoy!

Yep, boot up evox on the X2lite. Unplug the modchip, plug in the pro, and flash..

At least I read you could do this... and it makes sense... I had no problems flashing from the PC.
