First off let me say hello to everyone on this board I have been reading alot here in the newbie area and all over this board. I have a few questions though. First off i don't have my xbox yet, its sitting in the closet, i will get it on christmas. (not sure what version it is i'd assume its the newest one)

My friend has the XBIT mod chip and told me to get that one. I was looking at that chip and then have been reading alot about the X3 chip. Seems that it comes with alot of stuff but i was just wondering if i could use the X3 chip without all the extra's. I am talking about the LCD screen and the switching thing. Do i need the switch? What does it exactly due.

I want to get the best chip why go cheap on something like this? I don't really need a screen or anything like that but the option for the future upgrade would be cool.

Another big question is has anyone gotten into trouble when ordering there mod chip form any of the places listed on this site. I mean like credit card fraud or got into trouble from MS. Also, what is the safest way to pay for these mod chips?

Your friends an idiot and he shouldnt even have an xbox XBIT arehorrible, at least in my exp with them. Get either an X3 or an XeniumICE. Both are upgradable. You will have to solder and them but there are tutorials all over the XS about this. If your bad with soldering go with the solderless 1.6-1.6b spiderchip. Some poeple have luck with it other dont. I have done 5 installs with them and they all worked fine. X3 comes with whats listed on the retailiers sites. the switch and XLCD is seprate. All the sites listed are legit and i have had no trouble with any of them.

You don't need to use that switch if you are only using one bios and that LCD screen is an optional extra. Xbit are good but just so overpriced for what they are now.

So the X3 comes with an external switch but just not the "Pro" switch? What is the difference besides the looks? Where does the switch go on the Xbox?

Also what do you mean if i'm only using one bios? Sorry if i'm retarded. What does having extra bio's do? I want to run EVO-X and be able to back up my games on my new hard drive i purchased. I bought the western digital 160 gig hard drive. Will i have problems with this?

the xenium chips are awesome along with the x3 chips. if you wanna go that route, get someone on here with some good references to do it for u and ship it back to u. rustydog with get-modded does great work.

XeniumICE and X3 are the two top of the line chips. You don't need to use any of the external junk with either of them. You will need to do some soldering to rebuild the LPC but the only alternative to that is a Spiderchip which seems to be getting mixed reviews. Both chips have multiple banks to allow you to store more than bios. This can be good for testing out a new bios without overwriting the old one. Other then that, I have never had much use for it. Btw, for my 2 cents, I like the Xenium.

Ok i've made up my mind. I'm going to order 2 of the xecuter3's one for me (system still in box not sure which version it is) and one for my brother's xbox its probably a year old. On modchipman.com they have a thing that says if your xbox is version 1.6b then you can request bios 3.0.3 instead of 3.0.1. Does that really matter because i can flash it anyways or should i just get both with the new version of the bios? I'm lost.

So can i just use my brothers xbox and flash the bios up to version 3.03 if mine is a version 1.6b? Is there a version 1.6A? Will this chip work with every version of xbox out there?

i guess i was looking at a different site. Modchipman.com doesn't preflash. Can i use my brothers xbox to load a different bios and then take that and put it in mine if its a 1.6b? His is about ayear old so it shouldn't be a 1.6b

I seriously doubt your going to find a dealer that will pre-flash your chip. how did your brother flash his chip? why dont you do it the same. go find slayers

if your brother isnt going to mod his xbox then why dont you persuade him to swap xboxs with you?
