where do you get those things they have for the clear cases that hold the disc down - they only work on thompsons i heard but a while ago someone had a link for samsung ones.

yeah, i really need one of these too, bad judgement on my part, took apart my sammy and poped out the anti skip pad, destroying the original cover, i have the clear one working on my smsung, but it's noisy, where can i find a clear one for a samsung drive?!

I had to ruin the top of my drive (samsung) as well to put the plastic piece in and now it doesn't work unless I set the plastic piece that came out of the drive directly on top of the dvd-rom. The cd rattles around and doesn't read otherwise. If anyone has a solution to this so I can still use the clear plastic dvd piece let me know please smile.gif

P.S. - I'm probably wrong, but I've only seen the clear plastic peice for sale with the whole case kit.

Where do you get the clear ones for the thompson without buying an entire case?

guys there's some great forums with tuts on here from foxracer on how to modify these crystal spindles to use with a sammy. i did mine tonight and it's actually quieter than it was before i took the original cover off!!! and it works great, just hack the corners off and make the crystal spindle actually rest on two prongs on the interrior walls of the dvd drive. then run a bead of hot glue up the sides to ensure stability. works like a charm!!!
