I have a 1.0 motherboard in it and it has to use a "slave" Thompson drive as well as a regular DVD drive. I think it was a bad TSOP because I can't read CD's, XISO game (xbox media) or any regular DVD's burned or orignal. My evolution x is messed up no media center, hdd loader skins or nothing just DDE messages and so forth can any help?

sounds like its a lot of things that just built up over time. Its kind of hard to trobleshoot this if you leave out details. What you need to do to get better help is list the history of your xbox becuase from the sounds of things, its no longer a "stock xbox"

What you need to do is make a new evox cd or dvd, boot to that, flash your tsop. Remove the extra dvd-rom, reformat your hd and reinstall evox or avalaunch. Then you should be back to normal. I am guessing your original dvd is shot, so you will prob need a new dvd drive.
