i registered on live with the OEM xbox hdd and now i have a 250 gb maxtor. how do i get my live info to change over? i copied all of th contents of the OEM hdd to the new 250 gb maxtor hdd, but the only thing that transfered correctly, other than the OEM dashboard, were my game saves and my user accounts. no live info.

you will now need a new eeprom because MS will noticed the hd change and ban ya from Live.

To get live on your xbox with that 250GB HDD you have to use recovery acount on the Xbox Live menu -
But you have to get a new Eeprom - because if you register using the same xbox and same eeprom your xbox will get banned form live -
It happend to me

ok my friend is using a 2 month free subscription card with his OEM drive. we just put in a 200 gb hdd in his box, but he hasnt used his 12 month live account yet. if he registers his new hdd with his 12 month acct. will he still get banned? or does he have to do the same thing as me?
as for my problem, i will read on the xbox live section. thanks

yea - you'll still get banned unless you also use a new eeprom.
