i just went out and bought a new xbox(burned a hole in my pocket right after i got $$$ for xmas) because my other 2 have unlocked hdd's and they dont want to work because my modchip is SC43w3d so i opened it up and the motherboard looked St4ang3ly weird so i figured it was either a 1.5 or a 1.6 because the other 2 are 1.4. I went on www.divineo.com and looked and i seen the new spider mod chip thats completely solderless for all xboxes v1.0-1.6b. OBVIOUSLY (just my luck) they were on pre order but i need one because its bugging the F*** out of me having 3 xboxes but only one thats not even modded and the other 2 dont even boot up. SO then i found www.modchipstore.com and they didnt say anything about them being on back order or anthing, so i payed the extra ### and used paypal and FINALLY bought it!!! im guessing another 3 weeks until it arrives

I was thinking EVoX M8_16.bin is this what you used? ???

I used M8plus_16 bios.

cromedome i would HIGHLY recrommend the evoxM8_1.6 bios because i have been hearing lots of people have been using this on their spider mod chip and it works great. thats what im going to put on mine

The M8_16 works for xbox v1.6
M8plus_16 works for xbox v1.6 and 1.6b

wow they already got a newer evox bios? evoxM8plus_16? i gotta try these bios when i get my spider in the mail ANYTIME soon.

lol k but mine never comes on time, last time i bought one onwww.xbox-modchips.com it took over a month, and oneof the x-b.i.t modchips they sent me was screwed up, i thought it was the pc that wouldnt let me flash, but 2 weeks later i realized it was the chip. i would not recrommend www.xbox-modchips.com for anyone that lives outside of canada.

Thanks Guys I found out I have the M8Plus_16.bin. This is the one I will
rename to BIOS.BIN and try to burn the spider with I hope it works. One more question ?? Should I burn the BIOS.BIN to a CD-RW or to a DVD-R? My xbox
recognizes both types of media. I use Maxell CD-RW which work fine. Don't
use memorex CD's they suck. Xbox won't recognize them.

Hey mack03. I allready burned a CD-RW and put these files in it. BIOS.BIN
the renamed M8plus_16.bin file. A also added 2 100MB dummy files to pad
out the CD-RW. Is there anything I am missing? Do I need to create an XBOX ISO
using Craxtion or Qwix? Just want to be sure I have it right...

Whoops I forgot to mention I Have a softmodded XBOX. I could copy
the BIOS.BIN file to the harddrive. From the looks of the install manual
I would have to put it in C:\Bios\BIOS.BIN. Is this coorect anyone tried
this way of flashing???

AWESOME! if your xbox is already softmodded then you should just go right aahead and add the bios.bin to C:\ folder! i would think thats easier than haaving to worry aboutif the disk will read, or if you did it right, try the hdd way if you want.

oh ya and you HAVD to add the bios.bin to C:\ so that it is located as C:\bios.bin. im pretty sure so try that if you want
