Alright heres my situation: I want to cut out a dvd window, but i don't know what to use to cut it out, i don't have a dremel and i don't really want to go out and buy one since i won't be using it very much, so what shouldi use. I put in a led fan the other day and a pair of tin snips and some sanding paper did the trick, but i wnat my window to look nice. Has anyone else cut it out with something other than a dremel? just let me know of any tools. thanks

If you want it to look nice you need to go buy yourself a dremel. After having a dremel you will find many uses for it that are non-xbox related. You will not regret buying it.
The only other thing that I can think of that might work decent is a jig saw with a metal blade.

go buy a dremel and then take it back after you are done

. you could prolly use a drill and a drill bit if you are good.

Drill and dremel bit. Look in my sig, all the cuts in those xboxs were made with a drill and dremel bit.

See i started my xbox modding on a tight budget and now that i have some spending money i kinda want to keep on this cheap path, i installed my led fan with a pair of tin snips, and now i wnat to use the tools laying around my house to get this window completed, much thanks guys
P.s. what i was thinking is a cut off wheel with an air compressor, my dad is a race car driver and we have tons of equipment, but no dremel. thanks

youl have to glue it back down - you need it to keep the disk stable whan it is in the drive. Put a blob of hot glue on top to keep it down.

Jigsaw with a small blade. Be careful though if you decide to do this please clamp it down because if you dont it will catch the jigsaw blade and your top case will be going about 400 miles an hour up and down.
