Is it possible to connect multiple xboxes to a laptop (which is connected wirelessly in my basement) and still have both xboxes recognized in XBC/KAi?

I currently use XBC since my XP is messed up and Kai's engine keeps failing every single time i load it.(but thats for another thread)

The only way i can think of this to work is buy another router/switch and connect both xbox to router's port using normal RJ-45 patch ethernet cable adn connect the laptop to the router w/ crossover calbe.

My laptop uses the USB port for the wireless internet(Netgear MA111) so i have only one ehternet port free.

If this is possible please elaborate the idea since i dont wanna end up buying a router if this wont work.

Well I don't know shit about Xbc, even if I did I wouldn't even bother to answer that part. But sure, someone got to love shareware and skins too. Enough about that... Regaring XLink Kai; Yes. 100% possible, stable, and working setup.

If Kai crashes; uninstall it, delete files and folder, restart pc, download Kai, install Kai.

There are no such thing as a RJ-45 cable. RJ-45 is the name of the 8 pin plugs an ethernet cable uses. Why do you want to connect the Xboxes to the switch or router w. built in switch with a stright ethernet cable, and then the switch or router w. built in switch to the laptop with a crossed ethernet cable? You can use both stright and crossed cables to and from a switch or router w. built in switch as long as it's newer that your grandma (Auto Negotioating).

Just bridge the connection in Windows XP and the dhcp will take care of the rest.

No idea what u just sadi but the other info was helpful. I'll try bridging connections.

Auto-negotiation, a little spelling error on my side. Smart little system that automaticly analyzes what mode/system units run when they're connected to be able to communicate. One of many benefits is that units with auto-negotiation doesn't care if the units plugged into it uses a crossed or straight cable. All up to date switches and routers w. built in switches is auto-negotiating.

Actually from my experience kai's engine crashes on boot if you have an xp bridged network !

I have PC downstairs - ADSL modem + wireless, Laptop upstairs wireless + connection to xbox via ethernet.

contrary to my initial thoughts so long as the laptop can access internet via the wireless (I used ICS) then xlink doesn't give a damn about needing them bridged, xbox is on different IP segment and still works as the xbox needs only see the kai engine, and the laptop it's running on has internet access.

ps. I have 1 default gateway assigned which is on the wireless adapter pointing to the pc running ICS - no gateway on the ethernet connection - good luck

The Kai engine does not crash due to bridging. See Kaiconfig.exe? Use it! You should configure Kai correct instead of handing out false info.
