The HTTP error numbers shown by the dash is standard HTTP and WinSock Errors. Here are some of the popular ones:

WSAECONNREFUSED 10061 Connection refused.
-No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

WSAECONNRESET 10054 Connection reset by peer.
-An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

WSAEHOSTUNREACH 10065 No route to host.
-A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host. Usually caused by an unplugged ethernet cable.

WSAENOTCONN 10057 Socket is not connected.
-A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected

WSAETIMEDOUT 10060 Connection timed out.
-A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or the established connection failed because the connected host has failed to respond.

WSAHOST_NOT_FOUND 11001 Host not found.
-No such host is known. The name is not an official host name or alias, or it cannot be found in the database(s) being queried.

WSATRY_AGAIN 11002 Nonauthoritative host not found.
-This is usually a temporary error during host name resolution and means that the local server did not receive a response from an authoritative server.

I hope this helps someone who might be wondering what those error numbers mean.

i just recently started getting this http error and it was making me very angry
unleashx
Instead of gettting angry, why don't you try to fix it. The error codes are pretty self explanatory. Any online features requires a properly configured networking setup. If you don't have one, well, what can the dash do?

Look for networking tutorial, there are a lot and pretty good too. Bottom line is, the dash, or any other app for that matter, requires external services to be properly working.
itsmee129
i fixed it now smile.gif , i just wanted to say that it just recently started happening and that a thread posting the problem i had. (i might have to re-word this post)

I have sompletley givin up on EVER getting my box on the net.

I was trying to use ICS and no possible combination I tried worked. I went through about 10 different tutorials to no avail. I will continue to use the dash because no others come close...

11002 hhtp error - you will be my down fall

11002 is a DNS error. ICS is very easy to setup and you may wanna try DHCP instead. If you insist on Static IP, one of the DNS entry should be the IP of your PC. If you are using some software firewall, make sure you add the gateway and the DNS (usually both provided by your ISP) to the trusted zone, otherwise the traffic will be blocked.

I have the same 11002 error. I am using a linksys wireless router, and have been successful at connecting to the internet from my box before, however I have recently started getting the error. It could POSSIBLY have started when I upgraded to the recent version of the dash, but I can't find any problems with the network settings. And ftp works just fine, any other ideas/things to try it would be greatly appreciated.

Jman598 : mostly its your settings, check the DNS server ip, or your ISPs DNS server sucks blink.gif
Bisquit
same thing happens to me, says it opening then i get that error. 11002
Jman598
Thanks szero, I figured it out now. It was in my router settings, I had temporarily blocked my xbox from accessing the internet so nobody could get on LIVE with it, and I forgot to unblock it.

404 is not a server not found error, its a page not found error returned from a server.

It means that the page you are looking for on the server does not exist. Check the URL is correct.

SUBLOGIC
there is a simple fix for all you people out there with a modem/router.
get a eithernet switch and enable DHCP on it! (if not on by default)

EVERYONE I know/sell and xbox to i tell them this and have never ever had 1 person have any troubles connecting to then net!

If you need software to enter a password and usename to connect to your ISP through a modem/router then get a router that has "pass through" and enter the password and username in to that.

EASY!

yeah what the hell are the people supposed to do that have their xbox connected via crossover to a second NIC on their pc with the primary NIC connected directly to a router, i can get on xbconnect this way just fine, but unleashx is giving me a hard time, don't get me wrong i love this dashboard, i think it's the best, i just wish i knew how to get all the features working.
psyddicus
I keep getting error 10061 when I try to download skins/saves. Newsfeeds work fine for unleashx and xbmc (xbmc movie trailers also work just fine, and it uses the same network settings as unleashx). I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here.
semcnm
What is the server name supposed to be for i can update ?
XBOX360KID

OK..I can connect to the internet with my Xbox through XBMC and such, but I can't connect through the dashboard. Unable to retrieve file: HTTP STATUS 11002. I don't know what to do. I've read these other posts but..I don't get it. I don't know what DNS is. I don't know what static and DHLP is or whatever it is. What do I need to configure and how do I do it?
Krames
I get the 11001 error, I am on the DHCP and it still does not work. I do a direct link to my modem. Would I have to find out my DNS and Proxy's for this?
Krames
Since I can't seem to find the edit post feature, if there is one, I meant to say the 11002 error. sorry for double posting!

I used Krayzie's Ndure Installer to get Unleash X. I would like to connect to the internet to d/l skins and upgrade the dash, but like so many others I'm getting the 11002 error.

The only way I can link to the internet is a direct connection from the xbox console to the cable modem (I can not have my PC/internet/XBOX linked at the same time because there is only one port on the modem). Before I used the Ndure exploit, it took me a long time to figure out how the network settings had to be configured on the stock msdash in order to connect live and upgrade to D.5960 (xbox's IP, sub mask, gateway, both DNS servers, host name, and MAC address had to be copied exactly as the PC ipconfig). However, now that UX is up and running I tried to connect to the internet using my PC's settings (which worked just minutes before the install), then I tried the installs default network settings, and after that also did not work I tried the old default ltools settings I used with EvoX and my old exploit. But all failed many, many times over. I can not connect with UX, LinksBoks, or msdash (but msdash is blocked by the exploit anyway).

Is there something I should change in the config.xml? Is there a different way I should try to setup my network configuration (such as changing the http/port settings)? Or, would it have anything to do with the default MAC address? If so, is there a way to alter the MAC address on Unleash X?

I had the "Unable to retrieve file: HTTP STATUS 11002" error for a while. I read the postings which were right but I was still missing something. Now I'm good and I could have save myself alot of time and inconvience if I had a better clue.

So you'd like to get past it? Following is a fix for the 11002 error (and should work for other HTTP errors) with a 99.999% success rate.

Like to hear it? Here it goes...To get past the "Unable to retrieve file: HTTP STATUS 11002" error, let me break it way down...

1.) Go to XBox Control Panel
via select System/ Settings/ Network

2.) Try the following Network Settings
- Enable = Yes
- Type = DHCP
- Auto-Detect = Yes
- Enable = Yes

3.) Log on to your Linksys router
via entering router IP address found on the bottom and admin priviledges in a web brower

4.) Try the following router config from the "Setup" page
- Automatic Configuration - DHCP
- DHCP Server: Enabled

If it helped let me know - If this doesn't work for you then....

Same here, i can connect my Xbox to the internet, and i can log inn to it via FTP, but i just cant Update my unleashx. (version .37.12.18a)
dave71uk
My Xbox checks and confirms there is an UnleashX update, I confirm and start the download, the progress bar happily marches on, then at the end, I get "unable to retrieve data from server", is this a Passive v Active FTP issue or something??
CzarMike
I have the same trouble, internet works fine on the box, but unleashx updates act strange. Updates are detected, and they download. When the progress bar finishes, I get the "unable to retrieve file" dialog (no error # given). They are detected when the system boots up as well via autodetect. I have a softmodded box, with working ftp

How do you solve the 11001 Error with ava launch?
unleashdomainx
umm im not able to game saves anymore can you tell me why how what i have to congifure to make it work again?
MasterDeath
The update used to work correctly and be able to connect until recently. Nothing has been changed, no settings on the xbox, no settings on the pc, no settings on the firewall, no change in hardware.

Evrything else internet related on the xbox works correctly. As this is the case, and alot are having issues, it is safe to say it is not us. There is oviously something wrong with the server.

Before you dispute this, check what I said. NOTHING was changed. A fix wouldnt do any harm on the update server wink.gif

Old thread but why not....

I must admit a certain level of disappointment here. Out of the dash/apps available this one was my second favorite. For its size and its cabability it has a great deal more potential and its sad to see its obviously died. I was hoping (yea like spitting in the wind) that the source code would have come to light so individuals could continue its evolution beyond the point when dev stopped but that seems to be wishful thinking.

Of course should anybody know where or how it could be aquired I'd love to take a stab at it.. my prefered dash has WAY too many loops and hoops to jump through to even attempt resolving anything with it, so its left waiting for its internal dev to alter.

Just venting my 2 cents.... but I am almost certain I'm not the only one of this opinion.

The guy who writes UnleashX recently came back out of the dark announcing a new version.
That was some time last week, so we're still waiting on the release.

Before you flame, I do realize that nobody has posted in this topic for ages.

However, I am coming up with an "HTTP STATUS 11002" error. I am connected a little differently than most people would be. Because my router is all the way downstairs and my room (and Xbox) are upstairs, I was looking to invest in a wireless adapter. I read on the internet that you can "feed" internet to an Xbox through a laptop or another similarly wireless device. So I have an ethernet (not crossover) cable running from my laptop (which is wirelessly connected to our network) to my Xbox and I DID enable "Internet Sharing" on my laptop, so I don't think that should be the problem.

Has anybody ever tried this before? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! I'd rather not buy a long ethernet cable and run it upstairs...
princemac
I did the same thing as the person who posted above me and I the update is detected and downloaded but then I get "unable to retrieve data from server".
