When I try to change BOB to anything, I get "Unable to set Nickname: Error Code: 0" when I hit save.

This is using the latest version.

How do I fix this?

i'm getting this aswell... But i used to get error code 6, and now error code 9.

Same error, it was bugging me. What the hell kind of name is "whicker?" who knows, but that's what I'm stuck with.

try openign the file that has teh nick name in it. its in eitehr th TDATA or UDATA folder. its a fiel called nickname.xbx i think. ftp it to your pc, then open it (with either notepad or a hex editor), and change it that way.

Well, ok, just tried that. Now when I go to the system settings inside unleashx it shows my name as an indefinite ammount of 0s..

well try and keep the name short, and make sure there are a space between teh letters. you have to follow what format the document is in.
and please tell me you made a backup.


if not, try moving the file, so it is not in that directory, then go to ux, and make a new one and see if it generates the file for you, with the name you want

yes, i made a backup, i learned from the past that I must ALWAYS make a backup.

also, it worked now, when I used it in hex editor instead of notepad.

well there you go. i changed mien usign notepad ages ago, and you have to get it perfect. but i have since also done it with a hex editor, and its easier.

have you tried to see if ux can change it now?

I found the fix to this problem!! Its very easy, just do this: Go to the UDATA folder with the NICKNAME file. Rename the file extension to .TXT and then press A on the file. This opens it in text editor. Now erase everything in that text file, and save it. Restart the xbox and now you can save a new nickname! that worked for me, but if that doesnt work, just delete or rename the NICKNAME file and restart the xbox. EASY!! There you go.
