I need some ideas on what to do with the RDX gui (if you can call it that).

The current layout has obviously not been designed in any way, and was there for testing a few bits of code for nexgen out. At the moment I think something that is based on the look of classic games might be cool and maybe having a seperate look for each system might also be cool.

At the end of the day I want something that looks good, so if you have any ideas or UI/skin ideas please post them here and i'll redo the code so it matches the best ideas.

how about something like this? just a modification of the default, nice and simple.

Interesting idea.

There is a small effort at the moment to develop a nice and simple xml based skin format. When I have more time I will take a look at converting your idea to an actual RDX skin.

how about just a black background, but with space invaders / retro graphics spread around a bit?

like with the space invaders ships as a selector like so: )> Games <( with <(= space invaders ship? Also using the cool space invaders font, of course!

Hmmm, good idea with the selectors. I will work something out so small pngs can be used for the selector icons.

I also like the idea of a space invaders skin. Gives me a few other ideas as well.
