i have an xbox with evox and a Pc with ethernet network card.

i also have a crossover cable for connecting.

ive tried reading the tutorials and so on, but to no avail.

i heard that u need to create a static IP address on my PC to match the one on xbox, but i dont know how to go about that..

in real need of some help regarding this, anyone have any spare time, it is greatly appreciated.

pc:network settings:
control panel>network connections>right click the connection to your xbox>select propertys>double click TCP/IP>click on USE FOLLOWING IP ADDRESS:enter ip
EG:192.168.0.4
255.255.255.0

sorted.

also check on your evox dash under settings what the xbox's ip settings are so you can set to the same exept for the last number

if xbox is say:192.168.1.5
set pc to something like 192.168.1.2

also the ip should be set to STATIC on your xbox as well
if it aint you gonna have to make an evox bootdisk with an edited evox.ini with the correct settings on it,boot with it so you can ftp to the xbox and change the evox.ini settings on you xbox hd so your xbox's evox will ftp properly.(this maybe different to how other people do it but it's how I got mine to work)

setup your ftp program to connect to the xbox's ip adress.port 21
username:xbox
pass:xbox

pasv should be off(i think)

Try this:
go to: Start>Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt
on your command prompt type:

ipconfig
press enter.

It will display your ip address, subnet mask, and gateway. write this down.
if your ip address is somthing like 192.168.0.4 you'll want to find an available ip address for your xbox. To do this you'll change the last # in your ip address. for my example the 4 is changed to a 5.

So, on your command prompt type:

ping 192.168.0.5
press enter.

if this ip is available you'll see:

request timed out
request timed out
request timed out
request timed out
ping statistics for 192.168.0.5:
packets: sent=4, received=0, lost=4 <100% loss>,

Meaning this IP isn't in use and would be available for your xbox. No need to change the ip on your PC. Select static IP and enter your new IP, subnet mask, and gateway in your Evox settings.

open your FTP

Server or URL:192.168.0.5
User Name: xbox
password:xbox

Done.

For accurate help you need to provide more information about your network/internet setup. How is your internet connection coming into your pc? USB or your NIC? Do you have a router?
If no router and your pc is using your NIC for the internet conn. then you cant change your IP to static, if you do you will lose your internet connection. You have many options but until you give more info you wont get very far.
