While buring DVD-R's with my DVR-105 (Latest Firmware). My system uses almost all of its available memory (Leaves about 40m available). CPU usage is only 5% though.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
(BTW...My CDR's burn normal with this drive or my cdrw drive)

I would think this is a problem with the burning software you are using, not the drive. Try using a different burning app, just for shits and giggles, and see if the problem remains.
Mr Ed
Isn't the most obviously needed peice of information to diagnose this problem the OS and burning Software versions? But thankfully, I know the speed of your RAM. uhh.gif

Based on the information you gave us, I'd say it's your crappy OS (just guessing since I don't know what you are using) or your crappy burning software (just guessing since I don't know what you are using).

Upgrade to a decent OS such as Linux, Mac OS X, or if you have to XP or 2000 rotfl.gif

and a decent burning app such as that Record Max something (trying to be non-specific so Xeero can provide a more detailed followup to my rambling unspecific post jester.gif )

Technically, your DVD-R drive shouldn't use any memory, but your burning software will use some.

Any other clue's?

make sure your harddrive it is coming off up and the burner are set in DMA and not PIO. Any sort of large data transfers in PIO mode will eat your CPU.
