I have change the default.xap code and place my background.xbx file in the red skin folder, but the background image isnt showing up. Anyone know whats wrong? My xbox4 orb image is showing but not the background.

fixed it. You also have to insert the background image into the default.xip file.

This is all the code needed right?
In Defualt.xip - default.xap
DEF theBackground Background
CODE
{
skyColor 0 0 0
backdrop ImageTexture { url "background.xbx" }
}
and after that put background.xbx in default.xip, right?

hi, sorry for my horrendous non-understanding, but i put that code into the default.xip, and the xbox refuses to boot...... just shows the xbox logo over and over.
im confused about "inserting" the background.xbx into the default.xip, and i also dont have a default.xap.
any help would be good. as i would like to try other skins, but am just not getting a background up, i been searching all morning and most afternoon, but no luck, so if you can help, it would be tip top.

Alright, first of all u need winxip. That program extracts the xap's there u will see all of the xap's mentioned.
Then u extract the xap u want and save it in a convinient place. Open it with notepad or another text program. and do the moddifications u want to the code.
For a background image insert the appropriate code and insert the image u want as a .xbx file format in the skin u want.
After all of this re-insert the xap u extracted in the xip. Saave the xip, FTP to your box and voila.

You know that you don't have to extract the xap. Just open it straight out of winxip
and edit it with notepad, save and close notepad and then save the xip and ftp it
back.
