another thing i got a evolution dashboard on a disk. so i tried loading that and when i goto settings i get this.
SETTINGS/INFO
in yellow. NETWORK
in blue. TYPE - nothing here
in blue IP- 0.0.0.0
in blue- LINE STATUS 100/full duplex
in blue - Ethernet mac addy
then in white a whole bunch of stuff.
setup network- YES
use static ip- NO [is default i try to change ot yes but won't let me save. only exit]
IP 192.168.0.2
subnetmask. 255.255.255.0
default gateway- 192.168.0.1
and alot more but i won't post unless you guys need more info.
i keep looking and looking every where. for some reason i just can't get into the BOX from the PC to upload the evo-x dash and get into the HDD to get games off the BOX.

The default gateway should be something like "255.255.255.0"
and the ip (if ur using a router) should be sumtin like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 or sumtin like that

255.255.255.0 would be the subnet mask address, not gateway
192.168.1.1/2.1/0.1/ are usually used for the gateway IP
and are called default gateway addresses, not IP address.

You cant change the settings on the CD/DVD as the settings are on the disk which is a ROM (read only memory) either load the Dash on to the HDD or open the original disk ISO edit it to the Network settings you want make it an ISO and burn it back on to the disk (assuming you are using a CD-RW.

Ok you need to edit this then reburn the DVD, use static ip to YES. this will then asign the IP to that listed.
You could also enable Intenet Connection Sharing on you PC which will make it a DHCP server that will issue an ip address that you can FTP to on the original disk

How did you make the original disk? If you started with an ISO and burned it to a DVD you need to open the ISO so you can see the individual files. In Evox the should be an ini file that you can open to see the Network settings as displayed in the dash.
What operating system is your PC?

If your running ICS on the pc it enables the XP firewall by default. Try disabling the firewall in the properties of the local area connection NIC.

Are the pc and xbox set to dhcp? ICS works best when both the host pc and connected device are set to DHCP. change your settings in evox back to DHCP before you burn the disc, then
have your pc up and running before you put the evox disc in and boot up.
then try both port and passive mode in ftp.

assuming the f drive is enabled in evox, just download media center from xbins if you dont have it already, and ftp it back to the xbox f:\apps directory.
