Before anyone says read this tutorial Robinson Tutorial i have and this problem/connection is not detailed there.

What i want to do in simplest form is this.

Internet > Computer > switch > xbox...

basically the internet goes into my computer, then my nic card runs a cross over cable into a switch, (which provides internet for the rest of the house) i have plugged a crossover from the switch into my xbox...

Obviously i have no nic details and the card has to deal with the switch. so any help would be appreciated...

Cheers...

To get internet on the other pc's I assume you have a router or are running ICS on the pc. your setup would work provided you use the crossover cable properly. If your going pc nic to switch via xover cable you need to plug it into a regular port on the switch, not the uplink port. Or you can use regular ethernet patch cable and go from pc to switch into the uplink port. Then you need patch cable going from switch to xbox/other pc's, not xover.

Ok tired what you said, when running flashfxp i get this from the connection box

WinSock 2.0
Connecting to 169.254.105.100
Connected to 169.254.105.100 -> IP=169.254.105.100 PORT=21
Connection failed (Connection lost)
Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

If your running ICS on the pc do this:

make sure the pc is set to dhcp
turn off the xp firewall
restart pc

set the xbox to dhcp
restart xbox
find the IP address that the xbox is using, should be in the
192.168.0.* range

from pc open flashfxp and connect to that IP address.
