Hello,
I'm a completely new user of xbox and I already have read in the faq's some basic knowlege about xbox.
I bought a spiderchip and installed it, but first of all, how can I check if the chip is well mounted so I can move to the next phase.
After that, what do I have to do in order to play the backup games and run some software?
Thanks in advance.

If it installed correctly you should see the cromwell screen on your tv when you boot up your xbox.
You will then have to flash the chip with a hacked bios to enable booting of unsigned code, and install a dashboard.

What is the Cromwell screen? So I can be sure that it's well installed?

Cromwell is a blue screen that gives you the option to flash your bios from http, a cd, hard drive etc. It should boot up if the chip is installed correctly, and you have the external switch for the chip set to enable.
