I got an xbox for Christmas, but have played Halo (1) with friends for quite some time. Basically, i'm about a 5 or 6 on a scale from 1-10. Not a noob, but not 'elite'.
I play on XBC and it seems that each time I play a Halo 1 match, it's a team of 9's playing a team of 5's and we get owned. I had one team the other day get their 3/5 BG caps and then just park around our base and spawn kill for literally 15 minutes...
My router isn't compatible with XBL (yet) - it's a Netgear WGR614v5.
Any ideas on how I can play some fun games with even teams? is there something in particular I need to look for?
Also, I lag on occasion; is there a way to lower my ping by tweaking settings or is it based on geographical location?
Thanks,
-J

Probably because Live doesn't support Halo 1 laugh.gif tongue.gif But Halo 2 is a lot lighter of bandwidth than Halo 1. You get lag sometimes because the host you are connected to doesn't have enough bandwidth. Just change hosts and try to get one with a good connection (good upload speed). You might try Xlink Kai too as the community is a lot friendlier and there are people of all ranges. You can join private rooms too that are just for intermediates. smile.gif
