Hi I just tried to lock my hdd with the tutorial where you get the hdd password then make a bootdisk and so on. (I'm sure you know which tutorial) and after I did it my xbox now comes up with error 32. What can I do to fix this?
otherguy
32!? you sure it's not 12 or something?

and no i have no idea what tutorial you're talking about

This is where I got the instructons to lock my hdd. http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/lock-hdd.php
And sorry the error is 13.

error 13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.

Why are you using the above mentioned tutorial. Configmagic is the way to go, its all automatted...click...click....done. That is unless you have a 1.6

reformat the HD

Is there any other way to fix it other than reformatting the drive. Is it possible to reverse what has happened?

not to be an asshole, but did you miss the big red text in the tutorial you linked to?

if you have the key that you locked it with, you should be able to recover. formatting will do nothing unless your able to unlock the drive first.

Thanks I'll give it a try.

obviousy he will have to unlock it. But once unlocked he can reformat and lock with configmagic and never have to worry about forgetting the password.

Hi I tried reversing what I had done but my computer won't recognize that the drive is there. How do I unlock my hdd?
