I kinda hit my xbox with the controller a bit hard yesterday, now I'm getting error code 07 when I boot up - damaged kernel files or somthing? I've been intending to mod my xbox for sometime now, but moneys a bit tight. I've been reading as much as I can, but what I really want to know is - can I get the standard ms kernel / os thing and, if necessary, install it on a normal harddisk if my current one is damaged?

If not I'll continue reading about mod chips n all the rest of it... Ta for any help

7 - kernel - HDD timeout

when you hit the xbox you might of moved the HDD too much and might of damaged it. If you get a mod chip and a bios that can run unsigned code you can get a new HDD (at least 8 gig) and reformat it for the xbox with slayers

if you want it back to stock, you need to format the new HDD to the standard 8 gigs and select the restore to factory option in slayers

P.S. next time hit the guy that killed you biggrin.gif

Cheers.

Funny thing was, it wasn't anything xbox related that made me do it...
