Perplexer thx for the info bro. i better get a set of component cables for my xbox
any difference from monster component and generic component? I also wondered if the xbox dvd player would play dvd as clear as my stand alone dvd unit.
Get the Hi-definition A/V pack from MS. It's only $20 retail at any store. Make sure you get the one that is a single cable (not the breakout-box).
Avoid Monster; their stuff is way overpriced, plus they use a nonstandard digital audio out for their Xbox cables and you'd need to build or buy an adapter.
If you have a "standard" DVD player, then the Xbox with component will blow it away in picture quality once you do the edits. Even if you have a progressive-scan DVD player, DVDs will probably look better in Avalaunch when upscaled to 720p or 1080i (which most standalones still won't do!)
